Man Carries His Mother In A Basket For 8 Years!

Yesterday SP2 installed itself on my pc. Everything was fine for a while.then as SP2 has a pop-up blocker of its own, i decided to remove google toolbar(with ad-blocker).My Pc then went into 4 bit colour mode with all graphics terrible. Was this a fault of SP2 or a coincidence?I restored to pre Sp2 and this corrected problem. This morning I again removed google toolbar and then SP2 again installed. So far so good? Not being too computer literate and hearing other scare stories has put Me off sP2 a little but to avoid it I would have to disengage auto-updates. Anyone else had problems since installing SP2 and what is the general consensus.
Many Thanks. Peter.

SP2 Good or bad?

There are many stories regarding SP2 problems. I've even beta-tested it, and now I'm running the main release version that you are using.

I found that I needed to update Norton Antivirus after installing SP2, because it didn't recognise that I had any antivirus! :?

I've not encountered any problems with the Google toolbar since installing SP2 - I would suggest you check the Microsoft Windows Update site to see if there any hardware or software updates available after installing SP2. I found a new graphics card driver and Realtek ethernet card driver for my computer.

One annoying problem is the Auto Update feature, if you have installed an update - a box appears roughly every 10 minutes saying your PC will restart in 5 minutes. This could lose your work, if you left your PC unattended! :?

Apart from these few issues, I haven't found any other problems - yet!
