my humble websites...

Been meaning to use this for a while.

Ramdisk allows a user to allocate some of their memory to act like a hard drive. One advantage of this is it is mega fast.

Because the ram is seen as a hard drive partition, it allows you to install programs straight to the ram and when the system shuts down, the information in ram gets written to your hard drive. I installed photoshop 7, which takes about 5 seconds to load on a normal ata 133 hard drive... when installed into the ramdisk drive.. it took 3 secs to load.

One down side to this is if you have less than 512 memory. As windows takesa lot of memory, you are very limited to as how much ram you can allocate. It alsos causes some problems for people who aint very technical minded as they often allocate too much memory for it to use I personally love this software, but would only recommend it if yu have 512+ memory in your system.

I have used this before, when my hard drive was dying
Its also what the 9x setup systems (not sure about XP) use to put all the install files on.
