Best network/phone

Hi all,

It's my son's 18th soon and I want to get him a mobile phone but on a contract... any idea which network is best? I know he uses O2 at the moment but also need to find someone who I can put limits on his phone with too.

Thanks x

Re: Best network/phone

Hard question, Frankie..

I personally, won't ever use the 3 Network - been there, and never again will I spend money on them. Still get pestered by them now, to take out a new contract.

I used to be with Vodafone, they are a good overall network and feature rich supplier - but expensive on calls. However, I switched to T-Mobile back last year - haven't had a single problem yet, apart from their 3G coverage in my area, which seems to be better now. My wife is with Orange, again never had any problems with them either, and they offer free broadband depending on the tarriff you chose.

I'm personally, staying with T-Mobile when I upgrade my phone in July this year, I pay just under £40 a month but that is mainly for a web-based package, 40Mb download/upload transfer, 200 Free minutes and can't remember how many texts a month. With the tariff I'm on I can watch TV, with no problems if I'm in a 3G coverage area.

So, its not an easy question to answer - apart from avoid the 3 Network at all costs!!!

Re: Best network/phone

Hybrid, I just realised I never said a proper thank you!

As you can see from my other friend, I managed to find a good deal on moneysupermarket and it's winging it's way in the post as we speak. A friend told me that I can just ring up and ask they put a limit on it as all phones have one but it's a lot higher.... hopefully that's true but I'm going to use the online billing to keep an eye on him hehe

So anyways, thanks for all your help x

Re: Best network/phone

I've got a pay monthly contract with O2 (I wouldn't move away from them, never had a problem). MIne is an online one which is £19.00 and includes 60 free minutes and 200 free texts, just right for me. I can upgrade my phone every 9-12 months. I currently have the nokia 7373 (pink) cos I'm such a girlie! lol
