All of a sudden I get this message when going to update.microsoft.com; this
error message and number appear after it says "checking if your computer has
the latest version of windows updating software":

[Error number: 0x800B0001]

problem.


tried every thing I could find on the net so far. re-registered every dll
that I found on microsoft.com and elsewhere. No fix worked. Shortly before
I update to the latest version of IE I was getting some error stating that
my version of XP was not valid. wth? I have the cd
which I purchased in the store right here. nuts.
