Error Code: 0x643 Won't install Security Update KB917283

My system won't install Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework, Version
2.0 (KB917283). I have tried doing it manually as well as thorugh auto. Is
there a bug in this or does anyone have any suggestions?

I get that error to. I have never got that to install so I have just hide it

I got a tip somewhere to uninstall Microsoft.Net 2.0, then reboot, then
download net 2.0 again and reinstall it, then reboot, then the updates will
take. Try it, it worked for me.

When you try to install security update 917283, the computer stops
responding, or you receive a "0x643" error code on a computer that is
running the .NET Framework 2.0
