Re: Travelling
It all depends on the time you have and what sort of things interest you.
For general sightseeing London is a must with all the famous buildings and places, and you can get open top bus tours which take you round all the main sights.
I would also strongly recommend Edinburgh, Glasgow, Liverpool and Cardiff as towns/cities worth a visit.
If you want to take in some history of the industrial era then Birmingham and the West Midlands have some of the best museums and certainly more miles of canals than Venice.
Viewing countryside will take some time as the travel will take you to all corners of Britain. Go from Kent across the south to Cornwall then up through the Midlands and over to mid to north Wales, don't miss out Chester, then up to the Lake District back over the Pennines towards Newcastle upon Tyne, North through Durham and into Scotland. Up the east coast to Aberdeen, across through Inverness and on up to Mallaig. If you can then manage it try and get out to the western isles and you've pretty much seen as much as you can without living here all your life.
Enjoy your trip. |
