Cutomize Xp's Thumbnail sizes

Xp thumbnails are pretty large, we now have the option to lowering this size so we can get the loading time and more thumbnails into an open page.

Goto the Registry again click start then the run box and type in regedit

Now by clicking on the plus signs until you locate this place

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Explorer

Right click on the right hand side in the white empty space and Select New Dword Value

You'll see a new value plus a 1 Rename this to Thumbnailsize then right click on thumbnailsize and click on Modify now type in where you see Value data: Just type in 32 & ok and the size of your thumbnails will be alot smaller.

Just remove it if you deside to have it the bigger size again and it will go back to default size.

Get rid of those shortcut arrows

Do you notice all those shortcut arrows thats on your desktop? You know the ones that have a little arrow pointing up. You can get rid of these by doing simple thing in the Registry.

Registry can be a dangerous place for the uninitiated, so if you decide to do this the instructions exactly.

Click on start bar and then go to the run box, type in regedit
When box opens on top you'll see (file) (edit), (view) click on Edit and then find - Type in IShortcut and do a search, just right click on that file name when the search is done and delete it, you'll have to do it again and again to make sure you get all of them it finds and remove them all with that name IShortcut Reboot your computer and those pesky little arrows will have disappeared for good.

Many tweakUI programs will this all for you but if you don't have the money to buy a tweak program and would like to know how it would do it anyway here it is.
