| The XEON Mp3 Player This is one of the most advanced website mp3 players around, and this version we have online, is locked directly to this domain. Many features not normally associated with web-based mp3 players have been added. The player itself is designed in Flash, but the song data is held in our database, and the tracks are on external servers. The XEON allows vBulletin webmasters to add this product to their websites. It does away with the normal XML fed mp3 players and now reads data directly from the vBulletin database. The admin section has controls for the following:
The flash player is embedded using the latest javascript method, so its friendly with all browsers, no 'click here to activate'. It will hold upto 500 songs in it's current release, allowing upto 100 tracks per playlist. The original XEON player used 5 XML files to populate the player with data, it now uses just one PHP file to populate all 5 playlists making the need for XML lists obsolete. This is the first time this version has been fully installed, a few modifications have been made to some of the templates, however these were only minor. It will be released on vbulletin.org very shortly, allowing vBulletin webmasters to use these new features on their own websites. Designed by Syrus XL and Mike Milton. ![]()

It will be available hopefully this week, this will be the XML driven version, not the vBulletin database version which is currently on demonstration. |

The vBulletin version can be downloaded free from www.vbulletin.org - only if you have a valid vBulletin license. The versions I'm going to sell on here are global versions that work on any type of website. |

The XEON will be available to buy from later today. The documentation is just being finished. I will then place an announcement with details on how to purchase. |

man that player is awesome. I'm very interested in getting this. Any news on a video player. I have a video site. And a video player would be great. Sorry. Hate to be off topic. |

Our aim was to create a combined Mp3/FLV Player, and designed to look like a portable DVD player. This is something that is in development, and if released will only be available to vBulletin users only, since it does require a MySQL database to function. Uploading of video's would be only for small video clips because of the 2Mb PHP file upload restrictions with most web hosting companies. There are ways around this restriction, but not all hosting companies allow the use of php.ini files to override their default settings. |

What if I were host the videos on my own site and run it like that. Similar to making playlists with XML files. Or is that not possible with the design>? I wouldn't mind hosting my own videos, Im talking like 2 or 3 videos max. |

The actual population of the FLV player is done by forcing the Flash player to read directly from the database via PHP, all urls are entered via the AdminCP and saved in the database. It works in a similar way to the mp3 player population, the one I'm co-authoring the pre-release of on vbulletin.org, it doesn't use XML due to the fact that XML is not a secure way of populating a flash movie file (SWF). |
