Exclamation FREE Sky TV via Broadband

Sky customers that already subscribe to either Sky Movies or Sky Sports can now view online by broadband. You must be on a 1Mb connection or higher to view on demand.

Sky now offers 'Sky by Broadband' to their customers for free! You can download the movies you want to watch using their software, allowing you to queue movies, watch and rate them.

Please read the requirements regarding PC specifications.

Sounds good, but can you successfully burn these films to DVD to watch later. It doesn't mention that on the website.

Good point... The answer is 'No' - all the content download is protected by Microsofts' DRM (Digital Rights Management) and will only work for 30 days from when you download.

Re: FREE Sky TV via Broadband

I noticed that once you install this Sky by Broadband application, you are in a peer-to-peer network. At first I thought this was fine, until I realised that even without the actual program running I was still 'connected' to their peer-to-peer system.

It installs 2 files namely, KHost.exe and Kservices which run in the background, even after a reboot. Needless, to say I've since disabled the service from running and unticked the KHost.exe from starting up using msconfig.

They say nothing is free, in this case it is true - it sucks your bandwidth, eventhough they state otherwise!
