Due to the running costs now being incurred by Digital Port we have now installed a commercial advertising system, which will hopefully generate revenue to cover current and future running costs, keeping us online for many more months and even years.
The system doesn’t mean all members will see the advertisements, anyone that have supported Digital Port will not see the adverts, unless logged out. Administrators and moderators will not see the adverts either. This system will display animated gifs, jpgs, swfs or simple text links.
Our system doesn’t produce adverts that popup or pop-under pages, they are on certain pages only, and targeted to the specific page.
Information for Advertisers
The current advertising by
Pixal Adz in the header throughout the website uses an entirely different advertsing system. This is due to change within the next few weeks using a flash-based banner rotator; this gives our advertising clients maximum impressions per month. Digital Port receives in excess of 1 million hits per month, so it makes sense to advertise on a high traffic website, with a majority of hits deriving from the UK. Our current banner rotator will display flash or jpg file formats, we cannot display gifs.
