Just finished designing a new flash-based advert for Digital Port!

Similar to how the cigarette pack was created, but more graphic work on this project.

Thats because its a swf movie file. You need a special program to save swf movie files.

The reason why swf is used more these days is because you can create smooth graphic and complex effects without having huge file sizes. This banner advert is only around 20k in size, but uses 120 frames of multiple animations. With a gif file, the entire image is redrawn a number of times, but with swf movie files only certain parts are redrawn, if designed correctly. So it is has advantages over gifs in many ways, besides you having to wait ages for a page to load.

I actually prefer using Flash to any other program for creating animation. Ok, when we used to be on MSN Groups, we were restricted in many ways - and animated gifs were the best thing we could use.
