Microsoft has failed to reach target quantities in the UK, causing panic for people that pre-ordered them, hoping they would have the Xbox 360 for the festive season.

One of the UK’s biggest software retailers, Game have now stated that pre-orders made before 17th August will be delivered by the release date, 2nd December. This was originally the 22nd August and now limited to only one console per customer. Other retailers say they will not have a second batch until at least February 2006.

So this Christmas some children will not be lucky! Perhaps if Microsoft learned how to do their maths they might meet future targets.

Well, we managed to get our son one from PC World, of all places! Seems fine so far, no crashes or overheating.

I'm still waiting for my pre-ordered one from Game - that was ordered back in early August!!!

Roll on the PS3 which I understand will be ions better than the Xbox. I think I'll leave em all alone for at least a year so Microsoft and Sony can iron out the bugs..........
