 Xbox 360 Pre-order Scam in the UK
In the past week it has been brought to our attention that some small retailers that have promised pre-ordered Xbox 360 game consoles to customers, which they must purchase at least 2-4 games on the UK release day (2nd December 2005), or their pre-order will not be honoured.
Some outlets say they received an email stating this was done by Microsoft. Since we contacted Microsoft regarding this matter, they stated this is not the case and any outlet trying to use this scam should be reported to your local Police or Trading Standards Office at once.
This is an attempt by the retailer to entice you, as a customer, to buy games from them.
