Some of you have probably noticed we suffered a major downtime this weekend. This was due to the hard drive failure on the server, which holds many websites.
The hard drive was replaced and new memory installed, and OS plus all webserver scripts. Accounts took nearly 11hrs to restore.
However, the restored backup was 14 days old - so a lot of work was lost in the process, mostly to the new site which was virtually ready to be switched online. I always backup all the databases every night, just in case of a fault, so luckily I managed to use the backup from Sunday 2.30am. I only backup the databases, not the entire site due to the file size.
Anyone with an email address with us should find all accounts are now functioning correctly. If not then contact me via private message.
At least the site was not lost... backups are kept in a separate datacentre to the main server.
I did notice one member join while we were restoring the database, this means he/she would need to join again as the restore was not merged with existing data, just replaced.
Regards,
Hybrid
