After receiving numerous inquires regarding our current default header, we shall give you a few details on its design and how we incorporated it in to vBulletin 4.0 Professional Suite.

Preparation
Firstly, we have fixed the width of the whole site using StyleVars, this is set to a maximum width of 950 pixels. By doing this, you notice that your forums become misaligned on all browsers, therefore we made another slight adjustment to the left and right margins, by changing both values to auto - this will centralize the whole layout.

Flash Header Design
Once the above was completed, we then designed the header which is 950 pixels width and 150 pixels in height. Our logo was exported from Adobe Illustrator in an EPS format, so it did not lose the vector based graphics. The background image was again designed in Adobe Illustrator, but some areas are done using advanced masking techniques in Adobe Flash CS3. Our banner rotator was added, this is XML based and pulls in the banners via the configuration settings.

CSS Changes
We made no changes to the default CSS.

Template Changes
The header and headerinclude templates were both modified. The headerinclude template had an additional javascript call to embed the flash object in to vBulletin. We removed one line of code from the header template, and replaced it with the SWF file embed code.

Tab Menu Graphics
These were changed from the default PNG images that use an alpha gradient, to a blue and orange based gradients. We also modified the navbar colors to match, via the StyleVars.

...and now the question everyone is asking!

Will we ever release this as a modification for vBulletin 4.0 users?
We did have a similar modification for the 3 series, which changed the header image, but this modification surpasses that modification in many ways. It does not remove or interfere with the standard 'Advertising' areas of the default vBulletin header coding, it is designed to work with vBulletin in every way, without making major alterations to core coding.

Series 4 vBFlash Pro Header - (vBulletin 4.0 Only)
Yes, you read that correct! We will be releasing this modification as the 'Pro' version, and it will be free to use, however it will carry a small unobtrusive 'info' logo, containing a linkback to this website. It will be available in 2 versions very soon, but it will only work with vBulletin that has a fixed standard 950 pixel width.

Modification Types:

Static Background version
The Static Background version means the actual header will allow you to import your own background image, logo or site name and also give you a built-in high quality banner rotator.

Dynamic Background version
This version will rotate numerous background images that you define in a configuration file. It will also allow you to import your own logo or site name, and again it also comes with the banner rotator mentioned in the previous version.

Yes, this is classed as unbranding one of our products and incurs a fee of $49.99 per domain. This option will be available in our store shortly after this modification is released. You will be given a license from our system for your product, and treated like any other customer with 1 year of updates and fully supported via our ticket system.
