Server & Hosting
Digital Port is run on a Virtual Private Server which is proudly hosted by URLJet in the USA. Unlike previous web hosts that we have been with over the years, our website is served by a LiteSpeed server, compared to Apache which we have always used in the past. LiteSpeed technology gives us the advantage of running roughly 8 times faster than Apache. Thus we give the visitor the best performance possible from a vBulletin powered website.

vBulletin Optimizing
We use PHP acceleration, in various ways with the main core files of the website which is the vBulletin 4.0 Professional Suite. Our main datastore uses APC Cache in conjunction with Memcache to power vBulletin. Digital Port also uses vBSEO for rewriting for search engine optimization, this is configured to use Memcache to speed up the process even further. Memcache is rated as one of the best PHP accelerators around, and is opensource so it is free to use and install to get the best peformance from vBulletin, or any PHP based script that supports it.

Toolbar (Twitter and Facebook)
Many people have asked where we got the toolbar from which is located in the foot of all pages on our site. It is provided by www.wibiya.com - once you have installed it you can adjust many features from your Wibiya account.

Tweetboard (Tweets tab on left)
This is part of vBSEO, and using our account with www.tweetboard.com.

RSS Modifcations
These are exclusive to the site, they will be released very soon as official vBulletin modifcations, some will be free while others will be commercial only.

Audio/Video Podcasting Feeds
Again these are exclusive to Digital Port, and will be released shortly as commercial modifications. These are professionally designed podcast feed readers and work with all Apple feeds.
